AI seems to be all around us. The theme of AI at least.
Even in the bottom corner of the application I’m typing this post into I’m presented with the prompt to “Try the new Notion AI - chat, create, and find anything, powered by your knowledge.”
Despite working at one of the largest technology companies on the forefront of AI in business, there was a time I thought it was just another tech bubble.
All available evidence now seems to say otherwise.
Let’s just hope societal value soon comes into balance with shareholder value.
Shifting away from existential threat, for now at least, where I find myself wanting to direct my attention most is at the type of content that possesses the quality, experience, depth, and essence of life that can only come from another person. Both consuming it and creating it.
Did this originate from consciousness, or not?
It’s probably why I buy so many books after I’ve heard the author speak.
When I feel like I know them, like them, or appreciate the struggle of experience they’ve endured, I want to know more.
Even more importantly, I want to invest in them. Both my time and my money, in exchange for the value I believe I’ll receive from their work.
Continue to use AI for the novel1 things it can do, and I’m sure those use cases will only continue to expand, but don’t let it distract you from who you are, what you care about, and what you personally have to offer for others.
What makes you, you?
Thanks for reading,
Paul
Move forward. Stay in the game.
Research, summarizations, outlines, and even concept synthesis are all expertly handled by the latest iterations of the ChatGPT and Gemini models. I use them for this too. NotebookLM is just the current game changer I’ve come across. But do the work. When it comes down to the process, embrace it, and do the work.
