Lead From Within Outline
Lead From Within Coaching was designed as a six-week program for aspiring leaders and intended to teach the coachee to become a student of themselves through practice and self-reflection, and to develop their own Daily Practice for living and leading.
Key Concepts
The concepts below are central to the Lead From Within Coaching framework and serve as anchor themes throughout the Coach/Coachee relationship.
For our purposes, we will continue to refer to coach and coachee but please feel free to adjust accordingly when approaching it solo through self-reflection.
Fuel and Energy
When we feel good, our attitude follows. Energy powers attitude, which delivers the results we are looking for. Through tinkering and self-reflection we can more clearly see the fuel we are consuming, and whether or not it is providing us with the energy we need to reach our goals.
What is Fuel?
Anything you put into your body, mind, or soul. It’s the food, drink, music, books, thoughts, activities, social media, and people that power you, day in and day out. All of these elements influence how we feel, and they have a direct impact on how much energy we have to spend.
What is Energy?
Your life force, your drive, your mindset. When your energy is high, you can do anything. Thoughts and ideas come easier. Your ability to make good decisions increases. You are able to inspire those around you to do more than they thought they could. When your energy is low, the opposite is true. You float from one day to the next, just trying to catch back up with those around you.
Tracking Energy
Coachees will be asked to reflect on their baseline energy level at the beginning of each coaching session, and will also keep an ongoing journal throughout the program to help reflect on the concepts presented and personal experiments that are underway.
Energy Audit
The Energy Audit serves as a grounding framework, allowing the Coachee to reflect on the past week and any gains or declines in energy (and their causes). This should be reflected on and recorded in the Coachee’s journal.
