If you’re open to it, being the operative phrase.
I find it really easy to move with the current of daily life, and hours and days can pass without much change from the norm. Sometimes that is a good thing, especially when your systems and habits are dialed in with what you’re working towards. Sometimes it’s not, like when your focus is on external things like news, social media, the weather - stuff outside your control.
Sometimes though a thought, quote, or new idea catches me just right and boom, I’m switched on, and seeking more of it.
Maybe this is why I listen to the podcasts or read the newsletters I do. I love stories of normal people doing incredible things. Of overcoming adversity, demonstrating resilience, Finding Mastery.
Working towards living with purpose and vision seem to make me more open to inspiration and moments of awe. Meditation does as well. This takes attention, and avoiding what robs me of that.
That’s what this session of Lead From Within gets into. Purposefully seeking out inspiring content and intentionally feeling what results, and then achieving greater insight into what works for you.
What’s inspiring me right now?
This should come as no surprise, but Michael Gervais on Rich Roll’s podcast, and Rich Roll on Michael Gervais’ podcast hit almost back-to-back, and I have listened to them both twice. Both circle around this idea of how people learn the skills to perform at their very best. I highly encourage you to check them out.
I hope you find it valuable and please leave a comment sharing your own sources of inspiration from articles, photos, podcasts, or youtube.
Thanks for reading,
Paul
