On the first Friday of each new month I’m going to be switching up the format slightly to share updates on my quarterly objectives, ideas I’m considering for upcoming posts, things I’m working on or trying out, and content I’ve found valuable.
As always, thanks for reading and let me know what you think in the comments below.
Q1 Objective Check-in
Checking in here keeps me honest. Four out of my six objectives are trending well, but I need to get started on the last two while also making sure I stick with the others. How are your objectives looking?
Re-read the Meditations of Marcus Aurelius 🔼
Develop foot/ankle strength and balance to support my foundational strength program ❎
Improve cycling FTP by 5% ❎
Stand at least 5 hours each workday 🔼
Take Kelly out on at least one date night every month 🔼 (trending way up)
Post my Substack Newsletter 1x/week 🔼
What I’m Working On
This of this as a quick preview of what’s new, what I’m working on, or what I’ve been thinking about.
Substack post about what I learned through the experience of fasting for five days using a Fast Mimicking Diet (FMD) coming out next week.
Thinking through what more, shorter in duration, fasts could look like with our current family routine.
Finding a new saddle that allows me more “pain free” time on the bike. Is 3D printing the answer? Fingers crossed.
Prioritization and a focus on “what’s important and essential” both personally and at work.
The Month’s Most Share-worthy
Limitless on Disney+
While the examples are way beyond my own means, the journey that Chris Hemsworth is on really hits home for me. He’s 39, is married and has three kids, and he’s trying to understand how he can improve his own healthspan for himself and for those around him, especially his family. If you are interested in managing stress, heat/cold exposure, fasting, etc., definitely check this one out.
Kids and Money by
The way Gordo approaches his family, health, and wealth is really inspiring to me. He places a focus on time and experiences with family over everything, but with his background in finance, still shares his belief that financial education for his children is critical to their long-term success, and that this type of education and foundation is 10x more impactful than any sum of money we could ever leave for them when we die.
Tweets I Bookmarked
While I know I have mentioned a “social media fast” for the most part, I do still follow those who I think are switched on and asking great questions that either get me thinking or push me to challenge my own preconceptions. I’m going to work on sharing some of those here.

One Question
Is the thing actually too hard, or is the price paid in order to achieve the thing not worth it to you?
Thanks for reading,
Paul
Plan. Progress. Grace. Move Forward.
Thanks for the mention and nice to hear the posts resonated.
